the 'f' word: a feminism discussion group

Sundays from 7:00-9:00pm (starting Feb. 4/07)

at 147 Wyndham St. N.

Description:

For a lot of people, the word 'feminism' conjures up a well of emotions. Some hate it, some are inspired by it, and others have absolutely no idea what it even means. And so, the purpose of this class is to explore various aspects of feminism and how it affects us. Through readings, interactive projects and discussions, we plan to cover a variety of topics including body image, gender roles (within our families and society), natural health care, the role of patriarchy and much more. We also hope to open the floor to anyone in the class who would like to facilitate a week's discussion on a topic that they feel particularly inspired about. We have a lot of creative ideas for hands on activities and we hope to make this class both interesting and meaningful.

Note: we ask that for the comfort of the class, only those who identify as women attend.
